Winter Uniforms

Winter Uniform Notice

With the cold weather now here, it is time to ensure your child is appropriately dressed in the correct school uniform. This consists of School polo shirt, school tracksuit pants or shorts and school jumper or jacket all with the LSHS logo.
Students who are not in school uniform will be asked to change into a uniform at the Library. If a student goes to the Library before school for a uniform swap, (without being instructed to do so by a teacher) they will not be penalised any Good Standing points. If a student waits to be sent by a teacher they will be penalised Good Standing points on each occasion. Continued refusal to follow the school uniform policy may result in withdrawal from the yard and other educational activities.
Please do not hesitate to contact Year Coordinators, Heads of Senior and Lower School or the Deputy Principals should you need to discuss any concerns.

Lynwood Senior High School Adopts a Whale Shark

Innovative Learning; Lynwood Senior High School adopts a Whale Shark!

Principal Andrew Jack is excited to be involved in this innovative project.  Taking part in the Whale Shark Race Around the World, our Year 7 & 8 EaLS students will track the whale sharks migration travel around the world. This unique program means that students will experience a hands-on role in important research.

2015 Western Australian of the Year and former WA Chief Scientist, Professor Lyn Beazley stated that this exciting program celebrates our wonderful marine environment. “Educating students about this vulnerable species will help to ensure its long term future”.

Research leader from ECOCEAN, Brad Norman, said that many mysteries about the whale shark still remain. He has studied whale sharks for over 20 years for and is looking forward to having the opportunity to work with school students to unlock secrets of their annual migration.

Data will be posted once it becomes available.

Year 12 Presentation Evening

Year 12 Presentation Evening held Tuesday November 25th 2014.

This is a much anticipated event on the school calendar and this year’s ceremony didn’t disappoint! Lynwood had nearly 90 students who were celebrating their final formal occasion with the school with many receiving accolades and awards for their academic and school community contributions.

Highlights of the evening included an inspirational key note address by a graduate of 2010, Lavina Malesh who related her journey from Sudan to now her penultimate year studying nursing at the University of Notre Dame. Lavina set the scene for students in receiving course and special awards with Sam Ngu winning the ATAR student Dux for 2014. A special valedictory speech was made by Linh Dang our Head Girl, that concluded the formalities with a great sense of occasion that exemplified the contribution that these students have made to Lynwood and their personal journeys to young adulthood.

The celebration was brought to a conclusion with a collection of student photos and videos that outlined their lives at Lynwood over the past five years. The final and fitting tribute was left to the School’s Contemporary Rock band “Unity” who brought the house down with unforgettable performance!

Our thanks to all of the organisers, staff, special guests, parents and especially students who made this presentation night one of the best ever!

Gary Anderson
Principal.
