The Rotary Club of Kenwick Scholarship offers financial support worth up to $1,000 to an academically-talented high school student from a lower socio-economic background with aspirations to attend university.
The scholarship is to assist with educational expenses and may be renewed annually up to the end of Year 12.
Currently, 11 students in Years 8-12 are benefitting from the generosity of the Rotary Club of Kenwick.
The goal of the program is to assist students deemed to be in economic need and who have expressed an interest in following an academically/professionally based educational pathway at a tertiary institution.
How to Apply
- The application process begins in October each year and is open to Year 7 students who come from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
- After the application process, applicants attend an interview with Rotary Club members.
- Successful students are offered the opportunity. Generally, there are two places offered each year.
Students’ academic success is closely monitored by teaching staff and a mid-year and end of year report is issued to Rotary which details the progress of the students.
Each student is required to remain in the top 20% of their cohort in order to maintain their scholarship benefit.
Lynwood Senior High School is extremely grateful for the Rotary Club of Kenwick’s generosity in helping students in need; supporting their dreams to enter university and further their career aspirations.
