Technologies is a diverse learning area which caters to students of all abilities and interests. Learning occurs in three very distinct contexts which include Design and Technology, Food Technology and Digital Technology. Predominantly practical in nature the courses offer students the ability to develop key 21st century skills of critical and creative thinking, problem solving and entrepreneurship as they investigate needs and opportunities to develop products and solutions that are reflective of current industry and community trends.
In Year 7 and 8 students will have the opportunity to study Food Technology and Design and Technology in at least one semester, whilst the study of Digital Technologies is compulsory in both Year 7 and 8. In Years 9 and 10 the study of all three contexts are optional.
In Years 11 and 12 students choose from a list of both General and VET courses based on their interests or intended post school pathway.
