In operation since 2004, the Soccer Academy is designed to provide a unique opportunity for talented football (soccer) players from Years 7-12 to develop their individual skills, knowledge and attitude allowing them to play the game at the highest level possible. The program provides opportunity to develop leadership skills and civic responsibilities.

Students have the opportunity to represent the school in their respective teams and compete in the Champions Schools Cup as well as zone carnivals. Playing against visiting teams and having the opportunity to be involved in international tours and competitions in Singapore and the United Kingdom adds an exciting dimension to the program.

Students will receive specialised coaching from our experienced football teachers who have internationally recognised accreditations from the Asian Football Confederation, Football Federation Australia and the United European Football Association.

During their six years in the program, students gain experience in and be able to excel across all soccer aspects, such as playing at an elite level, coaching courses, refereeing courses and event management.

Students exiting the Soccer Academy at the end of Year 10 may continue playing Soccer with the school team and/or through the Certificate II Sport and Recreation.

Selection Process

To be part of the Soccer Academy, students need to complete an application form and attend selection trials.

The application and permission forms must be completed and returned to Lynwood Senior High School in order for your child to be considered for either of our Specialist Programs.

Once we have received these forms you will be sent a Letter of Invitation with the trial or testing information and date. Students cannot trial for Soccer or test for EaLS without first receiving a Letter of Invitation. Please ensure you submit the completed forms in advance as we need time to process the paper work before we can send you a Letter of Invitation.

Specialist testing and trials are required to gain entry to these programs. The trials and tests are held at Lynwood Senior High School and the scheduled dates for these tests are listed below. The Letter of Invitation will outline times of testing and materials or equipment your child needs to bring on the day.

Students may be invited to participate in a number of different selection trials before being accepted. Each applicant will need to meet the standards of behaviour, academic performance and soccer ability to be successful. Students are expected to maintain a high level of performance throughout their time in the Academy and within the school.
